I am wondering if a set of 83 firebird doors will fit on a 83 camaro? I need to replace my doors, and i have a friend who has had an 83 firebird in there garage for 3 years and wants to just give me the doors if they work.
Im new with owning a camaro so i really have no idea.

 

They should. Only difference would be ground effects, but if neither have them... well, you are set!

 

Lol I am positive they will. I have an 83 firebird and my passenger door is from a camaro. All 82-92 F-body doors will interchange, but there are minor changes in the inner workings. But 2 83 doors will be the same.

The big bonus is...they are free!!!! he even told me i could take anything from it as long as when im done i call the junk man for it.

 

Ok I've never done this before but by see a firebird and camaro side by side the way the roof slants on the firebird seems to me a little different than the camaro. So the window might have a little different shape. Just something you might want to check before installing it. I'm sure you will be able to switch windows between the firebire and camaro doors and I know the doors themselves are the same just the windows look different to me and maybe the triangle seals. Someone please varify this for me? Just somethin to look at before its installed and it might be different

Nope, the windows are identical. GM does this to save money - this way they only have to design one window for both cars. Like I said, I have a Camaro door, not even an 83, on my passenger side. everything works fine.
