T-Top Question?

one of my plastic t-tops on my 89 camaro was broken and i replaced it with a glass one i got from a camaro in a junkyard(dunno what year it was) so anyway it fits in fine but the lever to latch it only closes half way but it locks in. Were there more than one kind of t-top on 82-92 f bodys of was the glass vs plastic different. Also what would i need to do to make the glass one latch all the way

there are at least 4 different variations of ttops for thirdgens. Early models had hooks instead of pins and frames around the glass, later models had pins and no frames, and of course the lexan tops like you have. You can try adjusting the tops, there are adjusting screws under the trim panels on the car that you can use to adjust the holes the pins ride in. Your best bet would be to get a matching set and maybe even get the mounting cups off the donor car.

Yeah, I have an 89 Camaro, and as far as I know it was all stock. My T-tops were Glass.

, all factory t-tops were the same from 82-92 aftermarket t-tops unsed different latching methods the only thing that varied is when they introduced the lexan tops, i have a sent of 82 glass t-tops from a parts 82 TA i had they fit fine on my 91 , what probaly happened is the handle might have been taken off at one point or another ,take the torks screw out and set the handle to the correct position. it should

Ok, measure the length of the pins , with them fully extended, see if there is a difference, it shouldnt be , but you never know.
