EMERGENCY....Please help!

Hey guys, for the last few months I've been noticing a small pool of water on the floor, passenger side (where the floor is sunken)every time it rained. Today I lifted the carpeting and insulation to find out the source and was horrified to see lots of water under the carpeting. It seemed to me that water was getting in the car through the seams or in other words where the floor pieces overlay each other. Has this happened to anyone else?
I just ordered two spray cans of "Corroless" from "The Eastwood Company"; my plan is to clean up the seams with a wire brush and weld them all the way as much as I possibly can. Then clean it again and spray the "Corroless" stuff. Eastwood says this stuff is pretty good.
Am I on the right track to fixing my problem??
By the way, I'm taking eveything out of the car (seats, carpet, console, etc) so I can inspect and weld ALL this seams

Thanks for any help you can provide. I really appreciate your time!
Rick

That's kind of rare....

You have T-tops, right?

The usual source of that problem is that water gets behind the rubber seal somewhere along the top, runs down the track the seal sits in, and drips into the car at the joint between the top and the top seal. Then it sometimes goes into the A-pillar trim and drips down the door panel to the floor, other times it just drips straight onto the seat.

Next time it rains see if there's water on teh door panel. If so, you know where it's coming from.

the thing is I don't have T-tops!
Could it be coming from the firewall, right behind the engine? It's kinda hard to tell because water "travels" trough the insulation like bownty paper and water.....the paper sucks the water and you can see the water moving through the paper, so pretty much there is moisture almost on the whole passenger side; but the big pool of water is where the passenger puts his feet (in the big whole or dip)
Thanks

oh, I was thinking that maybe the whole chassis is bending and twisting since i run really strong and I had removed the front bumper (not the cover, but the metal inside) and haven't put my subframe connectors yet. I think this has weakened my car. Maybe this is the cause of my leaks

I had the same prob on mine and don't have t-tops... Its the drain tube on the bottom of the A/C evaporator case. Its probably plugged with leaves and other compost (Nasty smellin' A/C air is a givaway)

Rain gets through the cowl and fills it up to the point it spills onto the pass floor. Or it could be a leaky windshield or t-tops?!?

Try Joel's recomendation and the windshield and also remove the kick plate and check where the computer harness goes through the cowl and the harness for the door. Turn on the hose, set it on the roof and hop in to see where it's coming from. Don't waste time fixing things until you know where the leak is coming from.I would just seam seal if it's a floor joint. The factory did a good job of welding them and frame connectors will take up any slack. I've worked on alot of F-bodies and the only time i've seen a the floor rip or crack is in a collision. A hard one. Being a hard top is even more unlikely it's the floor. Welding up the foor just for the heck of it would be a waste of time. Spend the time instaling the connectors. Good luck, Kenney.
