DOes anyone have one on their car? If so how do you like it and is it functional? Also how much lift is in the hood? I have an 83 and I need a hood that is about an inch to an inch and a half taller than stock.

well the other day I saw a 91 or 92 silver Z28 fly by me when I was pulling onto the highway after school. And I was like "OH ****!" It was nice, it had that aftermarket hatch I dont know what its called but it didnt have the hatchback glass part and it had a black SS hood. SO, I took off screaching the tires because I wanted to look at it and I only had about a mile or so to catch up to it so I got up to about 85mph in a 50mph zone (I know Im sorry!) and I was flying by cars left and right and I STILL couldnt catch that Z, so I dropped it into 4th and punched it so now Im doing 93mph and Im finally pulling on the silver Z. So Im a car length behind it drooling and trying to stay in my lane and look at it at the same time. I pull up next to it so I could see the hood and I look to see who was driving and it was an awsome looking college girl. I figure she bought it like that because I cant see a girl doing that to a car. So I just look at the car until I had to pull off. But man Im sold on the SS hood. It was AWSOME! Dude get the SS hood and some 92 ground effects. You will be looking bad.

hey thats a cool story. I was wondering if you or anyone else has heard of a place that sells one cheaper than ASCD and how much lift is in that hood

 

I have no idea but Im sure someone else makes it.

 

I have one on mine but it is from ASCD.I take it to local car shows and always have people say good things about it.As a matter of fact,someone with a 4th gen SS stopped by my house today while I was working on my car and said he loved the way my car looked.Friends say it makes the car look aggressive and mean.I really like it.I wish I could get my pics to post here,but I'm having trouble.It is a lot wider than a 4th gen scoop,and I believe it sits about 1.5" to 2" high towards the back. I made mine functional.Took a little bit of work,but it looks nice.I don't know of anyone else who makes it.Thirdgenresource has 'em for about $469 I believe.That's where I got mine,but I got it under a gp for $419.
