Loose dash

Quick fix, I think. The dash on my 89 RS has alot of shake in it. Is this a common problem or do I just have a few loose screws? If it is a common problem how can I fix it. Thanks in advance.

common problem. as the car ages it's more apt to twist because it is not as strong as a unibody.

you are hearing something called "body flex" or "cowl shake"... very common in 3rdgens, and probably common in 4th gens as well..

best way to fix it is to put in subframe connectors..

hope this helps,
Colin

Actually thats a problem to, I just figured it was because it is 12 yrs old, but know I know how to help that, thanks. Perhaps I should rephrase my question. Its actually the part of the dash that hangs over everything else that shakes alot. Its not supported by hardly anything at all. Perhaps its a loose screw, which I will search for I just thought perhaps someone would have some insight.
