Custom guage colors.....kinda...

Well i just got done swapping out all my stock lights to red to match my stereo. I dont really want to make custom overlays, just something to make my guages look red during the day. I was thinking something like a red piece of plastic to go over the plastic window to see the gauges. Kinda like the material used in 3D glasses. The actual guages wouldnt be red, but looking through the window would make everything look red. Either that or i would like to spray the original "window". Has anyone ever done anything like this? If so what did you use and how good did it turn out? Pictures?

while your at it, go ahead and duct-tape some of that 3d glasses stuff over your headlights to complete the look.

You changed your stock lights to red? I would like to change mine to blue. Do you recall what size lights you had to buy to change them, before I go tearing it apart.
It's just an idea, but they sell transparent model paint that is used on models(Testors, Walmart) tail lights. Those are usually a textured plastic and alot smaller, but you may be able to experiment with that, if you want your gauges to look red during the day.

Ya the lights are 194's. I also had to buy the housings for mine. They was a total of 4 housings and bulbs needed for my gauges. The housings are 1/2" holes, and youll have to bend the metal connectors own a bit to get em to fit snug in your dash. Thanks for the model paint idea.
