Broken Hood Release Cable

Having a great afternoon, decided to fiddle around a little on my baby TA, pulled the hood release lever, heard the snap, said a few choice words... Anyone have an idea on how I can now get the hood open without breaking everything???

Well it may not be broken, the leaver might have pulled and the hing is stuck. I have had this problem before, what I ended up doing is just playing with it. Pull it and then gently hit the hood where the leaver is. Then once you get it open you need to clean (choke cleaner works fine) the hook/hing then lubricate it (white litum grease). If it actually did break, it will usually break in the platic puller in the interior of the car. In that case you can take off the kick pannel and pull the cable and replace the lever.

The cable MAY NOT be broken but when I move the handle back in forth it's completely loose. I've tried popping above where the latch is, I'm just dreading trying to get the hood open. I'll look into the kick-panel though. I'll try almost anything before removing body parts!!

Havent tried this on the camaro so i dont know if it works or not, but in the past when this has happened i went under the car, and took a long thin screwdriver, and was able to unlatch it from the bottom of the latch.

You shouldn't have to, the platic always breaks around the lever. And then too if you don't lube that hook/lever under the hood it'll stick, the cable will pull, stay loose and not open so its just luck, gota hit it just right. Worse comes to worse you can fish your way up there if you have some jack stands or a lift.
