turn signal lever problems

turn signal lever problems

just bought a used GTA

turn signal lever just flops around and doesn't activate the lights

do I have to tear the steering column apart to fix this ?

Im not too sure on the answer on that question but id like to add that my right turn signal doesnt automatically turn of when i turn i always have to manually turn it off.

hey RSMAN, mine does the same thing yours does. in fact i'm fixing it next week over spring break. i am assuming that a plastic tab in the column is broken and i'm planning on pulling the steering wheel, unless someone can help us now, i'll report what i find here.

It's actually a pretty easy fix, but you do have to get into the steering column. There is a switch in there that can be replaced for about $35. You can get it at almost any auto parts store.

Where are you in PA? I had to replace the lever its self on time, that wasnt a big deal though. But to replace the switch you will have to take the steering wheel off and a few other peices. Not a big deal but you need to have a lock plate tool to get to it. If you are close enough I could probably help you.
