need information on weather stripping,

HI, I've been looking through a classic industries catalog, for windshield molding that goes around the windshield and all they have is from 85-92. Was there a difference before 85? Or would that molding work for a 84? An I am also after a 82-84 Z28 steel hood, anyone have one? Thanks.

Re: need information on weather stripping,

I am not sure why they list it that way. I purchased that molding. It is a tiny bit wider then the stock one. Otherwise it is a good replacement. My 82 and 89 Trans Ams both had the same size moldings so I am not sure why they only list it for 85 and up. If the small difference in width does not bother you I think you will be happy with it.

Re: need information on weather stripping,

It's just a bad model year fitment guide. I believe the same molding was used from 82-89 or 90. Then they went with a wider molding to cover the small gap at the A-pillar to roof angle. The same molding will work for any 82-92 car and getting the original, thinner molding is probably not gonna happen today. I think we are all stuck with the newer design.

Re: need information on weather stripping,

thanks, I will be ordering, cause the little wider would probably be better around the top a pillar area around the windshield.
