how many of u have cut holes in the ram air hoods?

how many of u have cut holes in the ram air hoods?

just wonderin ghow easy it is to do it.. also have any of u cut in teh back instead of the front? where did u buy screens at so u dont get to much water or leaves or anything in the engine compartment? also what did u use to attach the screens? thanks for all the help. should get my hood by friday!!! cant wait!

anyone? i know people have done it i just want some advice as to how u guys have done it so i dont screw it up!! thanks and where can i get the screen and how do u attach it thanks again!

hey which ram air hood did you get, I got the ASCD ram air hood and comes with the screens, as to how to cut hole in the hood I haven't done this yet I,ve been trying to come up with a way to modify my aircleaner box on TBI to make the ram air functionable first, hope this is some help let me know what you come up with.

it comes with screens? thats cool!!i also go the ascd hood.. should be here friday i hope! also get this i called ascd to order the hood they had a two week back order so i called next gen parts they had a couple left and it was only 460 that was 60 bucks cheaper then ascd wanted for it! well my body man said he had an idea how to cut them i will let u know how it comes out. thanks again

Brooks, can't you just run with an open element? Wouldn't that give you the ram air effect you are looking for after you cut out the hood?

Nope, that would just be cold air. A true Ram Air system needs to be air tight, actually building pressure in the ram scoop and ducting.

When did you order your hood? And is that $460 with shipping? thnaks.

yeah i think that was with shipping i am not sure. thats what he told me sooooo.. i ordered it monday and he said 3-4 business days so i figure by friday i should have it. hope this helps!
