I have the silver RS five spoke wheels. Is it okay to rotate my tires, putting the two back wheels up to the front. It's RWD obviously, and I didn't know if it was okay to switch the front and back wheels.

im not 100% on this, but most 3rd gen wheels that i have seen are marked front and rear, so you can rotate , but youd have to change the tires from rim to rim, make sure they are the same size, and that they stay on the same side of the car.,

Only the 16 inch wheels you are unable to rotate front to back. the rears ahve a 16mm offsett that will rub on the outer tie rod end in front.

Yes, Dave is right the 16" can only be rotated side to side and if you have directional tires you are totally out of luck.

If it's a '91 Camaro with 15" wheels, then you can rotate front to back. I've done it. All 4 wheels are the same.

 

If you have front and rear wheels with different offsets, keep an eye on the guy that is separating your tires from the rims, and installing them on the new rims (front tires on rear rims, rear tires on front rims). Last time I had mine done, the bonehead put the right rear wheel on the right front, where the tie rod end rubbed the wheel as I was leaving the parking lot. Then the service manager put the jack in the wrong spot under the right fender and pulled it out from the body. Both problems were easily fixed, but would not have happened had I been paying attention...the next time I do this, I will pull the wheels off and take them in.

That's what that noise was. I had new tires put on my car and when they put them back on I noticed somekind of rubbing noise. I wasn't sure what it was. Said something to the guy and he said if it kept doing it bring it back. After a couple days it quit doing it. I'm going back first thing the morning. How can I tell which is front and which is rear?

Jobryan, on my wheels the rear ones have like a "lip" at the edge of the rim that is narrower than the front. Not sure of the proper terminology...but look close at your wheels and you'll see the difference.

The reason your noise went away is because you wore a big deep groove into the inside of the rim

Hopefully the shop you went to will take responsibility for it. (don't forget to use dealer prices for replacement costs then just go find em in a junkyard or online)
On the inside of the rear rims it should have "REAR" stamped into it also have 16mm offset or just 16mm stamed into it i forget which for sure.The 16inch iroc wheels are nice cause they have front or rear stamped onto the outside of the rim...I am able to tell the fronts from rears just by looking myself but is not always the case for other people sometimes.

you also got to be careful of the rims.. I don't know if anyone stated this, but if you look the standard camaro rims have rims labeled front and back
