Side Molding Installation

I just purchased my new side moldings from hawks (The later model wide strip kind) and was wondering what the factory correct way to install them is. Does it run centered directly over top of the body line that goes down the middle of the quarter, door and fender, above it with the bottom edge of the strip along the body line or under with the top edge of the strip along the body line?

Re: Side Molding Installation

It runs along the body line. There should be two strips of tape running the length of the back of it- they straddle the crease. If you test it with the short piece that goes to the front, you will see what I mean. Just measure the width, divide by2, measure down from the body line and run a piece of tape as a guide, and install. Easy.
