Overhead console installed. Flashlight restored.

Well after having it sitting in the closet on the shelf for almost 2 years i finally installed my overhead console in my T-Top Formula350 Looks great!

The hardest part of the whole thing was putting the Coat hooks back on in the back, who's idea was it to make those so hard anyway? all said and done it took about an hour, that includes the cutting of the holes in the headliner, not too bad of a job. the only real other problem i had was when i went to wire it in i found the the two wires coming up the A pillar on my car were both white instead of white and orange.oh well i just got out the ol test light and got em straight.i aslo installed a rear view mirror with the map lights in it from my old 89 S-10 Blazer.

I also could not get the little removable flashlight to work ,even after i replaced the batteries and bulb,so i took it apart (all the copper pieces out of it,except the one still attatched to the switch) and cleaned them with steel wool, now the flashlight works GREAT!!! just hought id pass that along in case some of you were having the same problem.

By The Way i have removed and replaced headliners in both T-top and Hardtop cars now and have to say that a T-top one is soo much easier due to the more manuverability you get by having the holes for the t's to move around.

The coat hook holes are a bitch to put back in, I hate dealing with those things.

Sounds great!

What was the part number for the bulb for the flash light???!! I have been trying to figure that out for a while now...

BTW, I figured out a really easy way to get the coat hooks back in....
Instead of trying to line the screw up first... like I used to do... You put the coat hook where it is supposed to go, then put the screw through it and it screws in perfectly.

I dont know if what I just said made any sense to you, but I cant think of a better way to explain it.

Later!

The flashlights in the overhead console are engineering nightmares. It may work for the present, but within a short time the 'guts' will be fouled again, and you'll be forced to clean them all over again.
