How do you remove the gear shift **** on a manual 86? And will one of those flameballs fit on it?

Alright ill tell you how to unscrew your shifter ****. First ting is your take out your carberator, after you have done this take your dash out. Now this will give you some room, now drop your tranny. Now you are ready to remove your shifter ****. All you have to do now is turn it. After this you can then screw on your fireball. Now make sure you put everything back in place, and you should be set.

I had this exact same problem. That shift **** is on there REAL GOOD believe me. What I did was I took a large vise grip and gripped the ****, then I put the other on the shaft. And then twisted it off. Watch out cause this can scratch up your shaft. Hope this helps.

Spray WD-40 underneath it, let it sit awhile, then use one of those rubber things you use to open jars for grip. Apply heat with a hairdryer to loosen it up if that doesn't work.
