Look at what came in the mail...
So I had been looking for an Iroc grill on here for a while, but couldnt find any used for a decent price (50-70) so I resorted to evilbay and ended up finding a new gm piece still in the box for 90 plus shipping. At the end of the day Im pretty glad I spent the extra money because this thing looks pretty nice. Here's some pics:

yea that was what I was thinking as well, but I bought it from Kendall Chevrolet in Eugene, and it had all the GM part numbers on it so I figured that was how shiny they must have been when new. I wasn't around yet when these cars were new so I'm not sure if my assumption was correct or not. Either way it will look WAY better then the crappy Z28 vent grill my 86 has on it now

Re: Look at what came in the mail...
I wonder if that was a replacement part number instaed of original. I have three of these and none look like they ever were that shiney. Now I have to maybe paint a used one high gloss black...

the grille looks damn good, but the car I put it on needs new paint so it doesn't compliment the car as much, once I paint the 86 I think it will look great though

Re: Look at what came in the mail...
I ordered mine about 6 years ago from Ecklers Camaro parts that is now Ricks Camaro but with the red bow tie and it was listed as a stock replacement. It also is gloss black. I don't know for sure if its supposed to be that way stock but like it. It matches my gloss buckets and paint/stripes.
Re: Look at what came in the mail...
GM replacements for the original are high gloss but the originals were satin. I don't know why GM is doing this. They also have replacement 82-92 floor mats with the GM logo and part numbers for the Camaro/Firebird, but they are not the correct shape for our cars.
