Running a Fuel Pressure Gauge and Line in interior

whats the easiest way to do it? Should i drill a hole near the pedals, run it up? How many feet of braided line should i need? Its pretty pricey *6 ft are 50 bucks* and the gauge and isolator are 120....so its pretty expensive in the long run. Ideas please

Do not used a mechanical. One day the gauge many break and you will have fuel in the cabin. Use an electrical one.

He has an isolator to prevent that from happening. The way you described sounds good.

I personally would of gone with the electrical one though. $85 including sender and is just as accurate as a TRUE mechanical.
I don't think it's worh the $120 for a mechanical with isolator. It's not mechanical unless it goes DIRECT from the fuel rail to the gauge.

Bad idea to put a mechaincal in the int. you can ask a buddy of mine who lost a 69' Chevelle to that.. Autometer has a great kit avalible at checker for around 40.00 with a sensor kit. Works great, I'll see if I can post pictures of mine.

I dont known if Summit carries it any more.
Part numbers:
(Intellitronix gauges)
Fuel Pressure gauge: ITC-K704
Sending Unit:ITC-S8434
90 Degree bend: NOS-17535
Braded line: ATM-3227
I bought these on Jan 19th 2001. The inside light it orange to match the other gauges. I also got the Trans Temp in pods.

Go onto www.autometer.com .. they just released new electrical fuel pressure guages that are a LOT cheaper. ATM-5709 is for the phantom 2 1/16.. it's ~$80 in summit. They aren't on summitracing.com or jegs.com .. but i think they are in some of the summit catalogs. I am putting one in my car very soon.. seems like half the hassle and cost of a mechanical guage.

All my cost were:
$39.99 for the fuel gauge $19.99 For the sending unit. $20.00 for the braded hose. $7.00 for the 90 Degree. ~$100

DO yourself a favor and stay away from Intellitronix, cyberdyne, and another brand i cant remember. They are all the same brand. They SUCK. I had 1 fuel pressure gauge and 1 air/fuel ratio and they BOTH BROKE IN A MONTH. I returned them for autometers. No problems at all and it looks better. Like I said BEFORE. AUTOMETER MAKES AN ELECTRICAL FP GAUGE WITH SENDER FOR $84.95

I have a total of 9 Intellitronix gauges if you include my dash, and they've all been problem-free and accurate going on 1 and a half years now. Same with my old Cyberdyne dash. And they're not the same brand.

And I got an AutoMeter A/F gauge a while back and it worked fine for all of two weeks before it crapped out and I had to send it back. But I don't dog AutoMeter based on that one experience.

But I definitely agree on going with the electric over the mechanical.
