Question about A/C and air intake

Hi! Does anyone know where the ventilation system and/or A/C system get their fresh air from ? I get this nasty burning smell in the interior sometimes, like plastic burning. I'd like to see where the air intake would be so I can see if anything is burning around there. Thanx

on the outside of the car just in front of windshield there is a screen, under this screen is your wiper motor connecting rods(driver side) and intake vent (passenger side). i hope this helps you. chances are that it is something under the hood burning check wiring by exhaust manifolds, it could also be something stuck in your fan for your heating system.

I went trough everything when I took my heads off two days ago. Nothing is touching the exhaust yet I still get the smell. WTF ? LoL. This smell has been around for a quite a few months now... I would think whatever's burning would be burned off by now. Guess not! lol

I got the same problem - somtimes I can see a small slow moving puff of smoke coming out of the center vents and it smells like burning plastic - I tried to see what could be triggering it - maybe the ac controls or cd player so far it doesn't seem to be dependent on what accessories are running

this week I'm gonna take out the dash and guage cluster to see what I can find- anybody else have this problem?
