The other is a re-engineered part. Either reproduced from original GM molds, or new molds produced from an existing bumper. Fit and finish is questionable.
Its like those aftermarket hoods. They never quite fit just right. Corners too high, etc....
I'd rather go to a junk yard and find a good, used bumper that isn't beat up over a repro bumper. Repro in my opinion should be a last resort because you either can't find a new OEM bumper or a good used bumper.

Repro body parts are generally junk as far as fit and finish -- if you're on a budget, best bet is a used original one.

Re: new gm or reproduction front bumper
I pulled a repop front bumper from an 85 trans am, but I wouldn't sell it as it had lots of curves and warpage which was obvious when installed. It was clearly a less stable material.
I agree with above, original bumper covers are always best, even if they need some repair.

dont go cheap if you have the option to go stock. too many fitting issues with aftermarket.
you'll end up regretting it and buying stock eventually and now you've paid twice.
just get GM and move on
and before spending money on a 2012 gm bumber, try the junk yards. an original bumper is the garuntee best bet for best fitting. but otherwise yes new GM should hopefully be just as good but 3 times what you would pay from a junk yard find.
goodluck

dont get repop you probably have to mod the bumper so you can have the emblem fitment for the gap in between the bumper and hood tends to be terrible. and many other problems

Go GM all the way.
As an example, after my wife's '94 Firebird was hit, the body shop used a reproduction bumper cover and every time I have to look at that car, it irritates me no end. I will find an original at some point and replace the offending part.

I'm always amazed how much NOS body parts there are for Camaro. I'm so 'bird oriented that I forget about stuff. Much harder to find a NOS firebird bumper cover!
If I had a Camaro , I would definitely pay for NOS or used original instead of a repop.
