Strange rattle, anyone know what this is?

There is a strange rattle coming from the far passenger side of my camaro. I hear it at errattic intervals, and cant figure out where its coming from. It is not a high pitched squeak, more low pitched, sounds like something is loose or somethin'.

I cant figure it out, because I cant look at it while I am driving. I also cant tell whether or not its coming from something outside or inside.

Anyone got any ideas?

Welp, I know it isnt a panel in the back, too far forward to be a vent in the door.

the noise sounds like it is coming from the front 1/4 of the car...

thanks,
anything else I should check?

I just fixed a rattle in my front end: the X cross brace rods in front of the radiator touch right at the crossing of the X. A split rubber tube keeps the two rods from touching. The tube was turned around and the rods vibrated together at a certain rpm.

If it seems to happen mostly when you are driving over a rough spot in the road, it could be the outboard brake pad is loose in the caliper. It's not dangerous, just annoying. Try lightly applying the brakes when going over a rough section, if the rattle stops, that's the culprit. You'll need to remove the caliper from the spindle and apply some 'Disc Brake Quiet' to the back of the pad and put it all back together. And make sure the 'tangs' on the pad are squeezed up tight to the caliper as well.
Hope this helps...

Pete

I have a rattle in my passanger side A-Piller. When it starts up, I just reach over and hit the stupid thing, and that keeps it down for a few weeks!

I found the only sure-fire way to get my 'bird to stop rattling and squeaking is to park it. It's now at the beauty parlor getting stripped and repainted. I'm sure it hasn't squeaked once since I left it. When I get it back, I plan to keep the top down as much as possible and let the wind noise drown out the squeaks.

Thanks for the replies guys!!
I think I got it covered though... It is one of the rubber stoppers that supports the hood at that corner.... the stopped dried up and cracked up and broke off!!! So I think that the bolt thing is scratching my hood up from the inside...... Im gonna get another rubber thing!
