Re: side view glass install help? please.
the best way is to drill out the rivits that hold the glass while its still in the door, then re rivit it back in requires a special gun that gm used.

Re: side view glass install help? please.
"drivers side window"? You meant side mirror right?
Don't take the mirrors off the car.
If the old mirror is only cracked you can use the mounting tape the new mirror glass comes with to stick the new mirror on to the old mirror glass. That's the lazy way.
I pried and scraped the broken mirror off the plastic backing with a small flat head screw driver ( yes the whole process is dangerous! wear gloves and safety glasses.) Then scraped off the silicone adhesive as best I could. I then applied new silicone and stuck the new glass on. I balled up some duct tape on the front of the glass and then strapped it down with a strip wrapped around the mirror housing to put pressure on it and hold it in place till the silicone dried.
If you decide you want to get the mirror off the car for this you can possibly remove the 3 screws behind the mirror that hold it in the housing. Otherwise follow the advice from evilemokid94 above.

Re: side view glass install help? please.
I dont think im explaining this correctly. I need to get the mirror back connected to the cables. And I am having a really hard time doing it. Does anyone have a trick or link to a procedure?
Re: side view glass install help? please.
You are ABSOLUTELY correct when you say you are not explaining this correctly... Do you mean the WINDOWS or the MIRRORS????

Re: side view glass install help? please.
oh!!!!!!!!!!! now I get it , the cable ends on the back of the MIRROR glass backing ,has disconected and you want to re conect them ..... well the plastic backing is held on by a plastic ball and socket you need to pull on the mirror glass and backing till it pops off, like dislocating your shoulder. reset the three cables then use some grease pop it back in , done mace sure its fairly warm or use a hair drier to warm it up before disassembly .as not to break the (socket) due to cold plastic. If you look at your first post ,you'll see why we were all confused you need to explain things as though we arn't seeing what you see LOL. good luck.

Re: side view glass install help? please.
Apparently their is no quick fix for the cables in the books,(maybe factory pressed),you might have to replace the whole mirror housing.
