People w/ 4thgen consoles

if ive understood this correctly all u have to do to make one fit is to take off the bracket in the front of the console? Im going to buy a 6speed console and put it in, but making sure its not harder then it seems.

Its just that simple. The only way to get in to any complications (at least in my case) is if you have power windows or mirrors. You will have to find a spot to relocate the switches. (I put my window switches in the ashtray mounted on a piece of aluminum)I have the 6speed console in mine.

Ok, you two with the fourth gen consoles. I know they bolt in pretty easy, but what about your stereo and heat/AC controls? Aren't those part of the dash on the 4th gens? Do you have to fabricate something for those or what?

i have an automatic 4th gen console in my 91 auto camaro, and for the radio and heater part, i had to cut that part off of the old console for it to work with the new console. looks pretty good to me. my main prob was getting the automatic to work with it, but i got it.

Camaro 22 - Can you post , or send me pic of what that looks like . I was going to do the swap on my Iroc . I knew the console had to be cut and didnt want to waste the money on a console if the end result would just look cobbled . Does the width of the 4th console duplicate the width of the radio/hvac form the cut 3rd gen console .
a pic would be stellar man ..my email is L9t8z@aol.com
