Switches in the ashtray
People have been talking about putting switches in the ashtray, but nobody's posted pics, so I thought'd I'd put some up. All I did was get some 1/8" plastic from a local plastic store (I asked for a remanent and they ended up just giving it to me for free) glued to the bottom of the console. That way there is enough clearance to keep the flip lid. I use it for all my neon accessories, and it's fun to see people's reactions when I flip up the lid and I've got got all this s*** down there.

Here's a picture from an early test-fitting of my ashtray switch panel. I fabricated a custom metal plate and attached the switches to it. I have since painted the panel black, mounted it underneath the tray lid, and swapped those cheesy Pep Boys switches for something more "professional."
