Camaro or Firebird

Which one do you guys think is better? I have a 91 RS as of now with a L03 and im tired of the lack of performance and the lack of my dad letting me drive it. I am goin to buy a new thirdgen. I know i want TPI doesnt necesarily matter wether its a 350 or 305. I also would like for it to be manual, autos suck *****. Soooooo should i buy a firebird or a camaro?

If you have enough money and can find one I would go with a 87-90 gta or a TA and I would really want to look for a 350 because you will regret it because there are not as many parts and is almost impossible to find parts for a 305 compared to a 350. Another reason I picked the 87-90 gta is not only do they perform pretty go but also they are one of the best looking f body I think. It goes like this 1gen is camaro 2gen is firebird and 3gen is firebird and last but not least is the fourth gen camaro, I cant stand the 4 gen firebirds rear and hood, ugly. i have a 92 firebird and i really dont like the front end because it always looks like it is smileing at me thats why i dont like 91 and 92,But these are just my opinions.

O.K., so I'm biased...

I say Trans Am! Check out Nosaint's '86 or Karps T/A's '85 and tell me they don't look awesome! I'm sure there are more, but the firebird will always be my choice.

I have only owned Camaros, but I like Firebirds' looks better. They are more aerodynamic, and look a little more laid back. It is personal preference though.
Oh, and autos don't suck *****. See if you can get a manual to double your torque (granted it is only for a couple of seconds, but hey, it happens!).

I like my camaro!! I hate pop up head lights sorry to some of you with them. I think 1st gen is camaro or firebird, 2nd gen is def firebird, 3rd gen Camaro or GTA, 4th gen definately RAM AIR FIREBIRD. They look like they would stomp all over you with that hood.

I own an 88 GTA and I love it, so I'd tell you to get a TA, but there's not much difference really. I like the hidden lights and the wing better than the ones found on Camaros. As for performance, get the 350 for sure. My friend has an 84 with a 305 and its just not the same, but I do love his Recaro seats!

I've owned IROC-Z's and T/A's and GTA's and I like the GTA's ... They have a more Luxurious Interior and the Body looks ballzier than the Camaro's. I'd also go with the 350 model the 305 model may have a T-5 / 5 speed but it isn't a very strong transmission. That's why they put the 700r-4 behind the 350 instead of the T-5. It can handle a 350 but For how Long??????? I don't think you'll be satisfied with the 305's power either. You'll want more than that to work with...

P.S. Love those Flipup lights!!!!!!!!!!

Definitely go with an '87-'90 GTA. I hate the look of the '91-'92 TA front ends. If not a GTA, go with an '85-'90 TA. I personally love TA's and GTA's. The best looking camaros have to be the '90-'92's. Since you already own a '91, then you have no need to get another. Unless...you get rid of yours and get a '90-'92 camaro with a 350. I am a trans am guy, but I admit that camaros definitely looked way better from '91-'92. Your choice, but I would go with a GTA. I was thinking about asking this lady if she would sell me her GTA...I wonder if she even knows it is a GTA. It has a smashed fender....but other than that it is mint...with gray leather. How much should I offer her for it. It needs a whole new side fender...on the passenger side...she got into an accident. I am willing to sell my '83 TA right away in order to buy it. What is a reasonable price?...Sorry i went off your topic a little.

im lookign for some thing 87-up becasue of hp reasons. My dad is giving me the car because i maintain my 3.0 average. I am 15 right now and wont be 16 till october and ive only driven that thing like 113 miles in about 8 months. And every time i want to driving he doesnt want to go (he's a mustang boy, hates the camaro). I've even propisisionted with him to seel it and get a mustang, that way we both would enjoy it. Anyways he has a history with his dad about his dad giving him things he couldnt use. And i think its starting to rub off on me too. so im going to use the 91 as much as i can, kinda like a daily driver and buy my own thirdgen or 94-up mustang to soup up and go weekend cruzing in.

Get the newest one you can find. The Z28 and the Trans Am are virtually the same car, the difference is in the details. The Z28 tends to be slightly faster (stock) due to the better air intake, but not because of lighter weight as some believe. The flip-up headlight assemblies weigh maybe 30lbs combined, which is miniscule.

IMO go for a 90-92 Z28, Formula (as long as its TPI) or T/A. The Speed Density cars are faster, and in 91 they started using "body glue" on the rocker panels, making them tighter cars. As far as looks go, I am partial to the Formula, but I like the T/A too, it is anything but ugly and the taillights look friggin awesome, especially at night with the cool red grid pattern. The Z28 looks real good too, there is no better looking Camaro than a clean 91/92 Z28.

I always thought that Pontiac overdoes it with styling, it seems like they are trying too hard and pushing it too much. Just my thought.

What are you talking about I like the pontiac's luxuries. The Gagues glow with the cool Bright Orange color. Much better than those GENERIC Camaro Gagues that they put in there. The Pontiac has Style. And those flipup lights are awesome.... BzzzzT.

based on looks i find camaros on average look better. firebirds are very inconsistant to me, i see some and they look sweet then i see another one and it looks like a POS. my favorite thirdgen based on looks would have to be a 85 or 87 IROC.

If you have to get a 5 speed, I'd guess go with a 91-92 305 Camaro. That'd be my choice. I love the way those look...

Just remember Camaro came before Firbirds...and I still think that Pontiac pushes it too much, kind of like the way rices do but totally different so it is not so....ricy...it is still respectable but i dunno. I usally think of the 91-92 firebird and that nose does not look so hot. I like the 85-87 firebirds if i had to get one. They are not as...pushy.

Formula, 87-92 in my opinion is the best looking. Try & find one with a 350 & T-tops. there out there but really rare. I like the IROC Camaros, and the GTA's are ok, the T/A in two tone just does not look right to me. But if you just want to go fast get the 89 TTA.

The Formula was the best of both worlds, it did not have the extra weight & drag of the ground effects from the T/A & GTA, also looking MUCH sleeker. The PowerBuldge hood and the aero spoiler set it apart from the firebird, the lack of the ground F/X don't break up the bottom of the car like the T/A & GTA. I also prefer the Formula with the two-tone paint delete.

I have some nice Pix on my site: http://www.3rdgenformula.com I liked the cars so well I made a web site for them...

Not to mention, As far as I am concerned, Ferrari could have made the formula, Compare the lines of the new 550 maranello, or the 308, very similar. keep in mind I am looking at the Body lines NOT the window lines, the "shape" of the car.

Go With a 350 Camaro.. No stick though.. To me it has a better Muscular(90-92) stance... For some reason I keep hearinf bad things about our 305 and whoever said there are more parts.. he/she is right... on the firebirds.. I hate to see one light up and one down... just doesn't seem right... my opinion. BTW how many chics are here that drive the F body?
