Painting interior panels?

I thought that a few of the plastic interior pieces had bee replaced, but noticed that the paint just came off them. I want to repaint them, but I'm not sure how. Can I paint them the same way the bumper covers are painted? I don't want this to be a project I will have to do again. If anyone has done this before, let me know.

If you go to a local automotive paint supplier they carry a spray can interior dye for about 8 bucks that is the factory colors exactly, the brand is SEM. That is the only brand that I have found to match the factory colors exactly. Clean the panels with laquer thinner or Acetone first, though, so they won't fisheye. Once they're cleaned the dye won't come off unless stripped, it's great stuff.

som adhesion promter before you apply the paint will help too, I use Kleen-Strip's Bulldog adhesion promoter, you'll probably find it at the same place as the SEM stuff

Acetone would be a good choice. Use EXTREME caution with laquer thinner. If you use it keep the rag real wet and move across your surfaces real fast. Laquer thinner will melt plastic in a heartbeat. Don't lay the rag on any of your pieces either.

Just use the Acetone or surface prep made for the job......it ain't worth the risk.
