Power hatch problems

I'm changing my 85 Sport Coupe to a 89 RS.
7-01-01 I pulled a Power Hatch off of a 87 IROC.I was wondering if anyone knew where you can get the bracket for the pwr hatch?
The one that is on my SC right now will not
fit the pwr hatch. I was thinking about
cutting the bracket off of the IROC and welding it back in to my 85/89 RS.But I dont
want to go through all of that work for nothing,so if you can help i'd be great.

An adaptor bracket isn't available as of yet. But it is on the list of items I am considering making and selling. But so far I have only taken a cursory look to see the difference. Also there are people that are Pi**ed off with their hatch pull down assemblies and are ready to swap than out for the old "slam it shut" style. I can keep you informed on what I come up with. BTW, I have also fabricated new nylon guides for the hatch pull-down assy. E-mail me for further info (web page isn't up yet). Lon Salgren, Owner: Top-Down Solutions.

If you go to your local bone yard you can
look at the two different styles of brackets
that sit under the hatch release,or PDH.
The slam down hatch release bracket is really small compared to the PDH's bracket.
