My windshield has a huge crack in it.So I need a new one for my 90' RS.How much? All replies are welcome,Thanks

 

Open up your local yellow pages and look in the automotive section. Depending on where you live, there should be a good group of winshield replacement business. Call them up for a quote. Good thing about them is that all you gotta do is sit there and watch them do all the work!

 

Actually before you go calling, you should ask your friends and whatnot, cause i've heard some winshield guys skimpping on the process and say you get into an accdent or anything,god forbid, but the whole thing crumbles or falls out. Make sure you trust whos working on your car if possible. remeber, cheaper is not always better.

I wasnt sugguesting to the man to go cheap. It's his car afterall, so he'll do what he wants to in the end. I just figured that he already knew about the risks and such and to be careful.

 

My PPG glass was about $110, but that was at cost. For the glass and the install around here it usually runs about $250-300, but in the past people have said they've had them put in for as much as I just paid for my glass.

yeah, I got my PPG for 110 too, just had the paint shop install it after they finished shootin the window jamb

but good thing here in SC, is that they passed a law that if you have full coverage insurance, its free! so it didnt cost me anything and my insurance doesnt go up because of it also

hey, i just got my new windshield today. i got a deal cuz i was friends with the guy, 150 bucks installed with new seal and everything, but reg. price from him was 185 and it is guaranteed for life against leaks. he is one of those guys that does onsite repairs, look for one of those guys and you might pay less

 

got mine for $110 got it at cost, the body guy told the window guy to put it in since i had a small crack and pitting, shoot all i knew was that the price went up $110 and i wasnt complaining.

try and deal with the guys though.

I have usually paid about $135 installed (a little over $100 for the winshield itself). That's of course not the insurance price. If you can somehow pretend that you work at a dealer, or get somebody that does to call in for you and set up an appointment, you'll get a pretty good price.
