Replace or repair cracked dash pad?

I was wondering if anyone had any success in repairing a cracked dash pad.

I know there are vinyl repair kits out there, but will they work on one of these?

Thanks,

Thomas.

If you don't feel comfortable doing it yourself, ask a local auto interior shop if they can fix it, and how much. Good pads go for $100+ even on eBay.

I don't have a problem trying it myself, I was just looking for some advice on what product(s) to use to repair it.

I was planning on replacing it anyway, I figure might as well try and repair it myself first.

Any idea who makes a good vinyl repair kit for this type of job?

Thanks,

Thomas.

It depends on how good you want your car to look. Remember the dash is what everyone that gets in your car looks at the most since they are facing foward most of the time. I just replaced mine for $75.00 and it was worth every penny. The repair stuff does not look as good as a mint condition pad which is why dash pads are kinda expensive and hard to find. Just be patient and shop the yards and ebay.

Unless I'm missing something that repair stuff doesn't work worth a flip. Sure not like the pictures they advertise with.

I got a near perfect dashpad for my firebird for 20 bucks. It had one small crack as opposed to a zillion in the old one.

Don't buy or any repair crap it is a waste of money and IMO it just makes your dash look worse unless you have really really blurry vision!
