Could we make our non functioning parking brake into a trans brake?

Could we make our non functioning parking brake into a trans brake?

Just curious. On my 91, the parking brake is screwed up. I can pulled the handle back with no resistance and the second time it will catch but it's almost like it ain't there. I know there's a fix for this, but I was thinking a little more creative.

If you wired it to the e-brake light switch maybe, a transbrake is an electrically operated hydraulic device inside the transmission. Personally I'd rather have a working e-brake.

Yea, I agree, but it was late and I was tired. Is there any way to make our emergency brake more effective?
