Help! Lost screw down defroster duct

Help! Lost screw down defroster duct

I was just putting in the last screw on my dash, and one of them fell down the windsheild defroster duct..Help.. How do I get it out with out taking apart the whole dash!!

Well that was my original thought.. so far I have not found one strong enough in the house. But I'll keep searching.. I know if I driv ethe car I'll probably loose i tto the core. then I'd have a real problem..

Same thing happened to me when I put new speakers in. Bought a decent magnet from the hardware store for like a buck and some string. Works like a charm.

That happened to me only I lost a 7mm socket. The magnet on a string trick will not work because, not only did in fall down, it fell into the hole towards the firewall. I used to hear it roll around for a couple of days after it happened but now it's silent. Been like that for months without a problem.

go to a hardware store and buy one of those pens that extend with a magnet on the end......it will work!
