Limp driver's side mirror - fix?
The driver's side mirror (not power) on my 91 Formula was nailed by some jerk at work. The mirror itself survived with only a couple niks at the bottom (I'll probably replace it anyway tho), but it hangs kinda limp now. The controller ****/joystick inside still moves it, but it seems like the tension in the top cable (of the three cables running from mirror>>****) is not enough to hold it anymore. I'm guessing the cable was stretched by the impact?
I took it all apart, but didn't see any simple way to fix this, short of replacing the whole system - any suggestions (thanks in advance)?

Edelbrock open element air
(no other mods yet - too much t/$ already into getting it back to normal from misc. damage & abuse!)

Viagra, hahaha
Actually, I took it apart again last night. I wrapped the cable that holds the mirror up tightly with wire just below the terminal metal barrel at the ****/joystick end. This extended it (it now sits about 1/4" further out in the ****'s slot. This gave me back the tension needed to correct the mirror's erectile disorder (w/o the 'scrip!).
So far (one commute to work), so good - I'll post if this goes bad or anything. If this happens to you and the above sounds too vauge, email me and I'll help you if I can (it's not that complicated, tho - I should have at least tried it before posting here and using up y'all's valuable time).
Thanks,
JoelG
