Inrterior handle broken

One of my friend's broke the inside handle that you use to shut the door the other day. It broke very close the the hex screw that holds it in at the top. From what I can see it's all one piece connecting the handle and armrest. Anyone know a fix that will hold up? Is the plastic bar replacable or will I have to replace it all?

Depends on what seats & door panels you have, if you have the deluxe interior with the molded plastic doors & the seat back pockets then it might be a little more tricky. I know where there is a black armrest/doorpull, i thik maybe a gray one but I don't remember.

If you have the simple flat door panel then those armrests are easy to come across. Every camaro seems to have them, and most of the Firebirds doo too. I might even have a black one in the back somewhere. Keep in mind, I think around 1990 they changed the design of the armrest/doorpull. They went away from the molded piece alltogether and went with the flat style for all firebirds. But the doorpull was different. you will need a doorpull from 82-89ish.

Arnt friends great, I swear they never take good care of your stuff like they would if they had to pay to replace it. I would charge your friend to have it replaced. OR Let him scavange the junkyards to find a GOOD one.

John
