Upgrading an RS to IROC

Alright do you think this is wrong or rice or what? I have an IROC Z28 which got crushed in the rear end. So I take my RS with its excellent body and I swap the eninges and upgrade all of the elements that are different between the models to IROC.

Can I call it an IROC after upgrading everything? I'm I'm using is the body of the RS.

Personally, I would call it an upgraded RS.

It's still a RS. Unless you also swapped the vin. Then it was a "ground up" restoration of your Iroc-Z.

It sounds like a good idea as long as your not trying to pass it off for something its not.

I think you would have the right to call it an iroc, but it wouldnt be a true iroc. I met a guy that did that to an 89 rs and changed everything to make it an iroc and it looks great, i dont think its ***** at all, i think if you just kept the car a stock rs and put 5.7 tunedport and iroc badges on it, it would be *****. Personally id keep it rs, because everyone and there mother especially out here thinks rs stands for really slow

It would still be a RS. I would not consider a lie to be an upgrade.

If you want an IROC get another IROC.

Of course there's no reason not to use whatever goodies are left on the wrecked car, to make the other one better; but that won't make it an IROC.

ya, my friend has an RS, and for some reason the front liscense plate says Z28, so he tells everyone he put on the RS emblems and took off the Z28 ones, but if u get it looking just like the IROC, i don't see why u can't call it one, just tell them the truth when u sell it.

All plate holders on the front of Z28s, Irocs and RSs had the wording Z28 on them. I guess it was just something GM did back in '85 when the newer bumpers came out on Z28s and Irocs, and they just continued to use the same mold for the ones on RSs too in the later years.
