Repaint of my Iroc
Well a few weeks ago i went to fbody gathering and didn't do to bad but, when i got home i noticed i needed to do touchups on the paint . so a buddy came over with his air brush to do some touchups well that didn't go to well you could see ever touch up after. so a total repaint was in order. so for the past week we have been working on the iroc stripped it down started sanding and getting it ready for the reshoot this time i decided to go base clear same color. here's some pics

Wow, I thought your car looked pretty good. Think I would have just blended the spots and cleared the rest of the panels but if one of the panels was the quarter then you might as well paint the whole car. Looking good, Good Luck with it. If there is anything I can help you with just let me know. Great to meet you at the Gathering. Hope to see you and your car at G18.

Re: Repaint of my Iroc
if you thought the color was bad *** at the gathering your gonna love it now . it is a much deeper color with the base clear. and when outside it looks completly different.
Outside
Inside
old paint this time the headlight pockets will be gloss Black. strips will be put back on the hood and decklid. the strip graphics will be from Phoenix graphics going with the pre molded Iroc kit in silver/black instead of making them myself like last time. seriously looking at teh tire size i have. it does give it that old school hotrod look, but since i put on the stock 91/92 wheels the car look more clean i guess is a way to say it. lower and meaner. ?? so i might replace teh new bfg's with a bfg tire that is around the stock height in front, and in the rear the same around stock height but able to fit a 10 inch wheel in the rear so much wider.

Re: Repaint of my Iroc
it's ppg shop line paint total for all supplies paper, disks, tape, and paint. total of $330.00 I already had primer so didn't need to buy it this time.
the old Paint was restoration shop paint. I couldn't tell you who makes it. It was single stage urethane. this time the PPG is base clear. it has a much deeper shine to it and a richer color. Only draw back i have now to the repaint is under the hood was done a few years ago in the restoration shop paint. with the repaint there is a slight color difference.

Re: Repaint of my Iroc
Looks awesome. Like the stripes on the hood. I would put them back on too. Cant wait to see it finished. Getting mine painted now too for $1500 from a cousin. All the salt they through down up here in winter months sure makes for a lot of rust repair. Glad I got him to do it. LOL
