Weird...fourth gen seat install problem

I've been a member of this board for a long time so I know that fourth gen seats should bolt directly into a third gen. I recently bought a beautiful set of 2000 TA black leather seats. I went to go install the passangers side front seat and it does not match up to the studs in the floor pan. I can get 3 of the 4 studs to fit into their respective positions in the seat track but the other is considerably far off. I tried the drivers seat and it lines right up to the studs with no problem. I looked at the possibility that the seat track was bent but there's not a scatch on it...no damage. My studs in the floor pan are also not bent or damaged...what's the deal? Anyone else ever run into this problem? I expected a simple bolt in procedure.

This weekend I'm going to try to take the seat track off my old seat and install it on the new seat.

Mike

I would make sure the tracks are even ,, when you pull the seat adjuster it only moves one of the track . actually one track is spring loaded so the track that is not spring loaded might be a tooth or two off which would cause the problem your having ,, so when you have the side with the spring lined up on the bolts pull the lever to adjust the other one util it falls into place

Pino is right.
I swapped 4th gen seats with my brother and when I put in the drivers seat, one of the bolts didn't line up. pulling the lever and pushing the track made it line up.

I hadn't considered that. This would make sense. I'll have to check this out.

Thanks Pino!

Alot of these seats are out of wreked cars ( duh ) , the tracks could be bent slightly even if its not visible . 3rd gen seat tracks bolt right up to the 4th gen seats , so just use your old tracks
