What body kit is this?

Hey 'maro owners,

I was curious to know if anyone can tell me what the body kit on this 1984 Camaro is called? I want to put this kit on my Camaro but haven't been able to figure out where to find it. And the spoiler as well. If anyone knows I'd really appreciate it! Here's the pic...

Re: What body kit is this?

The GM factory kit?

Seriously, based on the gfx, hood, and wing, it looks like a '91 or '92 Z28 with an RS grille. Or is that the right grille for a Z....?

Re: What body kit is this?

I'm fairly certain that's an 84 z28 cuz I saw it on this site under the gallery labelled as such. I may be wrong though... But I have an 84 with the factory kit and it doesn't look anything like that.

Re: What body kit is this?

That's what Jensen is saying... Although it may be mounted on an 84 Camaro, the GFX and spoiler/wing are from-the-factory in 91-92, especially for the Z-28.

So, go find a 91 or 92 Z-28 in a salvage yard, and take the GFX from it. Or go to an aftermarket supplier, like Hawks where it seems the chin is the only aftermarket piece available... Most likely to be damaged by driving into something.

That grille was given to those who didn't choose the fog light option. IIRC, It was standard on the RS with the option of fog lights, and the Z28's had fog lights standard with the option of a fog light delete.

Also, to the OP, you should know that the entire front piece that encompasses the headlights is different on the 91-92's. You will need that if you plan to put the 91-92 ground effects on.

Re: What body kit is this?

You can also find the ground effects on a 91-92 RS also. The only thing that is Z28 specific is the rear spoiler and the hood blisters. The hood itself is actually the same hood found on the IROC Z also.In 1991 GM used the same hood and put the blisters on instead of the louvers.

I've never heard the 1991-1992 factory ground effects called that. Where did you see that?

This looks like a stock 25th anniversary car but stay away from body kits man, haven't seen a good one yet.

Re: What body kit is this?

Interestingly, it does have the stock '84 seats in it. Maybe it is a '84.

This should be everything you need except the wing and hood blisters.

A guy near me, Coolwheels84, has an '84 Sport Coupe that he put late model ground effects and wing on. It looks just like a 91-92. (From the exterior anyway)

It's an entirely possible thing to do.

Your statement fits everything said above. Yes, the car is (most likely) an '84 model Camaro as stated. But, since factory GM ground effects parts from a 91-92 were installed, it looks like a 91-92 from a distance.
