Opinion - Wrap around spoiler with or without 3rd brake light?

Just looking for some feedback..
I have an 1985 trans amn that came factory equipt with the rubber wrap around spoiler that was in deplorable condition.
I have found a fiberglass reproduction locally and that came with the 3rd lamp housing.
My car did not come with this 3rd lamp originally, and two questions -
1. Does the fiberglass spoilers require the 3rd brake housing for additional center support?
2. Is the install of the 3rd lamp worth it?

Thanks for the opinions in advance.

Not required. My 88 GTA had one and the guy that did my prior body work broke part of the light housing. Never had an issue. It doesn't attach to the spoiler at all anyway.
My totally non professional opinion is it would be more trouble than it's worth to add it.
Since you're in my neck of the woods, I'm curious are you buying this used or found someone making new ones that I didn't know about.

Thanks for the reply DesertFox!
No I purchased the spoiler used from a local seller on craigslist.
I am leaning towards not using it, as I kind of like the look of the full spacing between the spoilers rear and the deck lid.

The third BL is a seperate add on piece, you don't need it, aerodynamics are better without.
Celebrate your '85 ness!
