I'm in need of new hood hinges as I'll be picking up another cowl hood later next month (GlassTek 2").
I haven't found anything here with a search of thread titles.
Are the dealers still selling these?
Are there reproductions available? Does anyone have experience with them if they're out there?
I'm going to nose around a little more but thought I'd ask here too.

ive seen them throught hawks and ricks camaros i bout mine from ricks they look just like originals work great make no noise install in factory mounts! they are really good,i dont remember what i payed though.

I'll have to see if GM still has any. I imagine they would be pricey.

 

I have ordered from ricks many of times an i have been very impressed with the quality of reproduction. I have seen many third gens at my local yard if you would like i could pick ou up a set and send them to you i could get them cheap and clean them up for you! If not keep looking I'm sure someone has a good deal!

 

I've always been inclined to buy new when I can. Like you say, some of the reproductions can be pretty good. That said, there's nothing like original equipment (in most cases anyway).
I'll check with GM later in the week and see what's left in their inventory.

You can get the new hood lift struts at Napa, or any auto parts store.
