Installing 4th gen door panels, what a PITA!!!
Well, I started on the passenger side door so if I have problems I can still get out of my car.
I removed the original panel, test fitted the 4th gen one, it fit pretty good. Had to cut some of the pastic hooks that hold the panel onto the 4th gen. changed the door handle and sliding lock piece. Put the cover plate over them and tried to put the door panel on. Well, the location of the stock handle is 2 inches to far forward, so I have to relocate my door handle and shorten the metal door lock and handle rods.
I also have to cut off the very front upper part of the 4th gen panel since it is too thick. I am going to try and cut it out and fabricate a flat piece of plastic to cover the hole.
Hopefully I can get this done before I get the car running.

I could try, I just need to get my hands on a digi camera.
I had to cut the new door panel about 2-3 inches shorter, almost fits now.
Looks great just hanging on the door.

If I could just find a complete dash for a decent price then I'd slap that in and not have to worry about the fit of the door panels.

I'd like to know how to fab the piece as well.
I am going to borrow a camera today and try and finish up the passenger door.
I should have pics up tonight, hopefully.

Well, I am going to get the camera in a few minutes, but I might be working on the computer and engine harness. I just got my modded prom module back and need to burn a prom and see if my car will start up. It's been a long 5 months and I really want to drive the car. I'll be working on the panel later tonight or tomorrow but I will have pics of it as it sits on the door.

Ok, here is a pic of the door panel on the car. How does it look? I still need to put in the door lock lever and modify the speaker grill and smooth out the front part.

Zepher, where'd you get the prom module? I don't ever seem to have the motivation to solder the Zif socket in to the stock module, so I wanted to see if there are any made in the aftermarket for a reasonable price.

I will be getting a 95 Camaro Dash as soon as my friend finds out his won't fit into his 70's Nova. If I had the cash, I'd get his dash, LT1, and tranny.
Jim, I got the prom from the dealer and had an electronics shop remove the stock eprom.
I didn't solder the ZIF socket to the stock prom, I just used another socket with long longs and pressed that into the stock prom holder and pressed the ZIF into that. Holds very tight, but I did hot glue it all together so it won't ever fall out.
Only thing now, is the prom module is too tall for the ECM cover.
