anyone running a hidden antenna?

I shaved my antenna back when the car was painted and i've had a hard time finding a antenna that works best for me. right now the best thing i've found is a unit that radio shack sells for around $5, but i've yet to find the best location to make it work.

I know there are things out there that work, my grand prix has a (hidden) antenna and it works perfect so any suggestions would be great.

Harada makes a hindden antenna that has to have some power put to it so it will work. We used one in a hotrod job we just did and it works awesome. I am getting the body done on my Camaro in the spring and I am getting the antenna shaved at the same time. I plan on using the Harada one. Any custom stereo shop should have one or be able to atleast order one. It was about $30 canadian so I am guessing it would be cheaper down there.

Hey Purpleworm! I am from NF, Canada and I was wondering if you have the part number for that Harada hidden antenna?? Where does it mount?

I want to shave my stock antenna when I paint my car so I need a hidden one

I shaved the antenna on my brother's 91 RS...we mounted a unit that was 30 bucks max on the passenger side beneath the quarterpanel lip under the hood...solid power..ill try to relocate the kit.

Dakota Digital makes a smart antenna. I used to see it in Summit Racing's catalog. That's what HOT ROD used in one of their project camaro's that they shaved the antenna on. IIRC it was around $90-$100.

so i take it not many have done this, well that's alright; mine works just not as well as i'd like so i guess i have a project this winter.
