Allright I am new to all of this stuff But exactly what is a Custom paint job & how is it different from regular. Is it the price of the paint, designs or what. I asked an owner of a local Custom body shop that same question, and he said he wasnt for sure. *** we have such bright people in this town. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

 

To me a custom paint job is one that is a non-stock color or material (like candies), or has graphics (like striping or airbrushed graphics or flames). I consider the paint job on my car to be custom because of the non factory type stripes, but the color is stock.

Some people consider top quality paint jobs to be custom, but I consider them to be show quality or the such. When it comes to cost, custom may or may not be expensive, but show quality always is (even if you do everything yourself). The materials alone in my paint job were in excess of $3000.
