Yes i said Glovebox, its sold by Camaro(forgot the rest of the companies name) i have the book and i was reading it yesterday, they said in their add, "install what the factory forgot" it looks like a real glovebox and its not the leather rag that was given in firebirds or transams, its priced at$ 123.00 id say not bad its black and it mounted where an original dash would be located right in front of the passanger side. Anyone have this, if anyones interested i can post the number of the place and a picture if ud like

It was in the Classic Industries catalog...

I'm kinda curious about their look and quality as well.

I'd need to see it. All I can picture is something that looks like that awful breadbox that the early C4s got.

I've thought about making one. It gets annoying after awhile not having one and the hinges on the center console are crap. If it could be made to fit behind the dash it would look good IMO.

I've looked at the area behind the pouch, because I considered flush-mounting my CD changer there.

Behind the pouch resides the ECM and the ductwork for the far passenger side air conditioning duct.

You could relocate the ECM by simply extending all the wires, although it would be time consuming.

I haven't yet worked out a way to keep the passenger side AC vent working. Of course, if you have a non/AC car, you could just block it off and not worry about it.

By the way, my plans included re-fastening the original pocket with Velcro, to hide the CD changer.

Chris, you may want to look behind there a little better. The heater box extends almost all the way to the dash board. There's no way you're going to get by that heater box and still keep it functional. Maybe up higher there's room, but I doubt it.

Jim, thanks for reminding me about the heater box. If I ever plan to actually implement my idea, I think I'll want to drop the ECM, pop out the passenger-side vent duct, and then get a much closer look at whatever else is back there, before I do anything.

how does that one in the pictures go on the dash, is it flush with the dash, or does it stick out? would you have to cut a hole in the dash and put that in? it says you just need a screwdriver.

Thanks everyone

Don't forget if you have a Z28 or Iroc it'll cover up the rather nifty badging on the dash.
