not if you want it to be functional. if you just weld it to the floorpans, put a good amount of pressure on it and it will go straight through the floorpan. for it to work properly, you need to weld it to the frame.
i was goig to weld it to the frame but i cant find it
i found it in the back but whare the mane bar is (the back seets) i just dont know whare the frame member is do u know and in the front i know that there is no frame so i just weld the bar to the floor beside the door thinks for your help

If it is not welded to the frame, you have to use 6x6x1/8 (not 1/16) plates.
