I HATE THIEVES!

Anyone have any pricing info on a new lock cylinder and re-keying it? I am gonna try the junkyard first, but if no luck, I just wanted to see how much you guys had paid for a new cylinder with re-keying.

At least the morons failed to get in.

Sorry, don't have any pricing.. But I feel for ya.. some guy tried to steel my ride about two years ago, made a mess of my steering coloum.. I don't know why they would try and use that method of getting in your car, man that must suck. when there are much easier ways in.. for any car. Hopefully it'll not cost you much.. wouldn't that be covered on your insurance?

i had the same thing happen. its a pain isnt it? it was done to my driver's side door and the locksmith made a new cylinder for me, and keyed it all up to match my existing keys. he also made duplicates of my existing keys, and all of this together ran me up a bill of 65 dollars. its really not all that bad, but its 65 dollars you didnt have to spend ya know? stupid thieves....

I had that happen. The only thing left was the lock cylinder in my parking spot.

I replaced my lock cylinders a couple years ago. $15 for a pair from autozone, fit perfect and work fine. As for the paint chips, get some touch up paint for now.

Talk about unprofessional morons. I guess everyone doesn't know that you can bend the side windows back and slid a hand to unlock the cars without breaking or damaging a thing! Sorry about your dilemma!

Sorry, no pricing but I feel for you man. Hope your insurance covers it. I heard about some break-ins at my school and went out right away and got myself a Valiant alarm. Thieves see the window sticker and back off. Hope you get it fixed okay. Crooks always go right to the nicest cars.

I paid $20 from the dealer, with re-keying. I got a discount from my parts guy. I think overall it would have cost me about $40. The part # is 12398552

hey, too bad man. Anyone know of a security system where you can send 10,000 volts through the bodywork? That could be interesting!

10,000 volts thats a good idea but have you seen that one they had on real T.V. Man this thing is in africa but if you try to break in the car it shoots this 9ft flame out from under the car to the top of you head, that thing rocks.

Say someone tried to steal my car before I bought it. I was sitting at a closed down gas station. Some one was even sleeping in it there were blankets in the car all spread out. Well Since I have that key with the resistor in it the whole cylinder and a set of keys from pep boys was $90.00 but I got mine out of this wrecked Camaro that I bought. The original key cylinder is yeah about 15 bucks unless you go to the dealership then they want more.
