Headlight adjust

My 85 bird seems as if the headlight beams need adjustment. I know how to do this, but the correct angle is the problem. does it need to be professionally done. I remember there used to be an adjustment device one could get at an AP stores, do they still have them ?

i don't know about birds, but the "adjustment device" for my camaro is a phillips screwdriver.

Realize this! I was talking about something that can tell me the proper alignment for the beam itself....

I just pull up to a garage door in the daytime and make sure they're both at the same level and hitting at the same spot (relatively) while sitting in the car. Then at night, I'll go out and make sure it's hittin' where I want it to be height wise (i.e. how far down the road I want the beams to go.)

Look at my tech article in the tech article section (upgrading headlights). It explains the "25 foot" method of adjusting your headlights. You want the beam to drop two inches every 25 feet.

I usually adjust my headlights to hit my knees at about 30 feet.
