Have any of you guys put one of the dual gate shifers in a firebird? Hurst says you can't install this shifter in a firebird but I don't see why not. I test drove a 77ta with one and really liked it my megga shifter is giving me some problems and I am wanting to know for future reference.

P.S. The threaded part of the shifter (were the shifter handle goes) keeps stripping out I have now gone to passing a 3/8 16 die over it to resize it and I don't want go to a 1/4 20 thread on it.

I'm wondering the same thing(firebird T/A install) after seeing it in the year one catalog today.
