Does anyone know where to get headliner clips? I've been to 5 stores and the Chevy dealership and they said that it's discontinued. Please help me!

you shouldn't need them. My headliners stay in just fine without the clips.

I have my headliner out of my car now... It was in bad shape and the material was worn out. So I pulled all of the stock gray material off it and scraped all of the old glue off as well... So now I was faced with what to do about the sagging and cracked backing fiber board. I did some reserching and emailing and was directed to use a Fiberglass Resin with fiber cloth. Sometime between now and the spring I am going to applying the resin to the underside of the backing board to stiffen it up. Once that is done I will be getting new material applied. It will look like new and won't need clips.

Instead of fiberglass, I took a different approach to fixing my headliner. One of them had an entire piece broken off, but my repair worked perfectly. I bought burlap from Jo-Ann Fabrics and I soaked the crap out of it with spray adhesive, then applied the pieces of burlap to both sides of the headliner at the broken spot. Once it hardened, it held great but still allowed the headliner to flex, which made installation easier. Best of all, it was dirt cheap. Once the new headliner fabric is in place, it's 100% invisibile.

Try a different dealer. If the car you're working with has Ttops the majority of the clips will be identical to the door panel clips. If its a hardtop the clips are available at any GM dealer. At least they were a few years ago. Expect to pay between $1-2 each.

 

Use staples or thumbtacks to fix sagging material. Works really well if you have red velour interior...then start playing dueling banjos...
