Custom Sub Box Pictures

My friend and I are planning on building a box for my subwoofers soon and I need some ideas. I've been doing alot of measuring and drawing already, but I would like to see what everyone else has done.

i think i have built one of the best customized boxes u can make for these third gens! ill tell u my idea so u can try it if u want. go to home depo get a sheet of 3/4 inch particle board, then u got to take of that little wing that ur t tops sit on. ur basically gonna make a panel just liek the one in crutchfield but its gonna be flat. then u got to cut out the template for it and make sure the panel is airtight. cut port holes if u want and get the subs u want. i got 2 12 inch kfc's in my car and ill tell u now that it hella pounds! the last thing u need to do is buy about 4 yards of what ever color vynl ur car color is and ur set. wrap the vynl tight and staple it to the back of the panel and ur done i got pics of mine if u wanna see it. my email address is jaycee82184@aol.com just emial me if anyone wants pics. im 17 and at my highschool everyone loves my customized box!

recaro xfire, sounds like you made a plate instead of a box. Plates are junk, but that's just my opinion. I did a sealed box for the 2 Kicker 12's I had and it sounded great.

Oh boy, I get to use my favorite quote.

Plates are junk.

Here are some different boxes that I've built:
1. Dual 12" box. This is the inside before I finished it.

Here it is in the car with the carpeted panel in place.

Single 12" system with a flush mounted amp.

Single 12" system with a rear-firing sub and 2 flush mounted amps

Heh, my speaker box looks a lot like the top one, except not as tall. Most complicated dang box I've made.

Apparently, I never took a picture of it actually in the car. I should take care of that this weekend though.

Hey Jim85IROC,
I like you're dual 12" box. I built one almost
just like it about 2 years ago. Originally had 10's in it, but I modified it when i got my 12's. Now I need to rebuild it for a better fit. We would all be apreciative if you have the plans that we can use. Thanks alot man.

If anyone doesnt mind, could u please email me your drawn out models?? I really like that dual 12 inch box. If anyone doesnt mind sharing their design, please email me copies if u can scan them or post them up here.

Is there anything special in designing the inside of the box, i ma sure there is, for best sound or something, i dont know much about boxes... and where would be ideal places for running all the wiring and how do u guys run your wiring??? from where to where?? i dont really now anything.

Please email me at ampatel1@vt.edu

Sorry guys, I don't give out my plans. The fact is, if you can't measure the space yourself, you probably shouldn't be using power tools in the first place. Taking the measurements is the easy part. Figuring out the panel size from the measurements is tough, but nothing that can't be accomplished with an extra sheet of MDF on standby.

How hard can it be to measure that **** out yourself?? I agree, took me 1 1/2 mins. Now I got a piece of cardboard to plan with. I make everything outta cardboard and duct tape before i make it outta wood/fiberglass.
