Starter kill switch to park/neautral switch

Does anyone know how to add a starter kill switch to the park/neautral switch ? It fools the car into thinking the stick's not in "P" or "N" when you try to start the car ..Thanx guys , Wayne

I came up with this method of starter kill switch a while back. Everybody liked the idea but nobody ever followed through with it. It wouldn't be hard, just find the right wire and it should work. When you figure out which wire it is let us know. Don't just tell us it's the white wire, lol

I did this mod to my car when i first bought it in 1992.

You can intercept the wire before or after the park/neutral switch, it really doesnt matter. If you do it before, you cut the green/white wire. After the park neutral switch, it is the purple wire. These 2 wire are the top 2 wires on the harness.

Coincidentally, the green/white wire is the same one coming from the starter enable relay at the driver's kickpanel. This would be the same place an alarm would be wired for a starter kill, if so equipped.

Some people would say it would be redundant, but I say multiple interruptions along the same circuit, especially underneath the center console, only makes your car harder to steal. I installed one of those rounded bike key locks in the glove box, at the indent where the clock adjuster button would be. Just make sure the switch can handle a good 12 volts.

Now i will be mad if my car gets stolen after this post.

My wires are different , I think guys .From the ****er opps ..I mean SHIFTER .. ..Under the shift plate the wires to the shifter , from the top view , the first wire is yellow , the second it purple and the third is green , its not green/white, its just green ....What exactly does this do anyway , will it only enable me to start the car in neautral or what ? I just really need some security on my car guys And I just dont belive alarms really work anymore .....Thanx , Wayne

I was just reading that article again in the other post .Sounds like I need a switch , I understand what this is doing now . ..Would help to understand what Im doing huh guys ? ...Im panicing b/c my Uncle's truck was stolen and he lives a block from me .And I just want something to stop them from stealing mine . But what this is , is a starter kill switch hooked up to the park-neutral switch to make the car think its not in park /neutral so cant start ? So when I wanted to start it or disable it so it cant be started all I would have to do is flip the switch right ? ..Thanx guys ...wayne

As someone who has helped install Alarms and remote start devices at Curciut city I suggest a few things. First of all please let a professional do this. Second if you are going to do this yourself call Curciut City and ask which wires to tap into. If they can't help you then call another place that installs these type of devices. By the way I would never suggest ANYONE who isn't a trained professional do this it is very complex and requires tons of training, which is why I haven't even begun installing them. Hope this helps. *By the way Alarms and remote starts aren't that expensive if you consider that most of what you pay for is a lot of labor. These things take a couple of hours to do with people who have done this a whole lot.*
