anybody ever tried this

I have a 92rs the interior is in immaculate condition and I do not want to do any damage in any way shape form or fashion. but it does need a tach. the car came with an original v6 and I am dropping in a old skool v8 so I love the all original look but need an aftermarket tach. has anyone ever tried these https://www.yearone.com/Product/1964-72-gto/p51 I happen to see a 68 firebird with one and thought it would be kool if I did a SS hood or a Daytona hood maybe a 4in cowl what do yall think

Re: anybody ever tried this

Never seen that done on one of our cars. I have seen people make a bracket that connects behind/under the dashpad and has the tach sitting right next to the air vents in the middle of the dash. Doesn't mess anything up and provides you with a clear view of the tach. Does yours not have one in the cluster...? I don't think I've ever seen one that didn't have a tach

You can swap the tach out. There's a guy on here that rebuilds them as well.

Tech article on entire cluster too.

Probably won't look the same since our hoods are flat. I'm guessing it would stick out.

You're right, it will read wrong, but you can swap it out for a V8 tach, like Scorpner said
