Securing Hawk's wing

Hey guys, long time no post here (like years, actually). How y'all doing?

Ok, I tried a search, and found nothing. Last time I was around here I know several people had the Hawk's wing on their bird.

Recently while washing the car, I found one of the supplied clips (you know, those small clips they provided with a single screw) had corroded a bit so it doens't look great, but more importantly, it had somehow bend, allowing the side of the wing to rise.

How do the rest of you have your wings secured? Has anyone done it without the clips provided and been happy? It would have been noice if they could have found a way to use the stock pieces to hold it to the glass/frame, but I'm sure that would have made it more expensive.

Granted, it's been on the car for 5 or 6 years, so if I had to simply replace the clip, it's not a big deal, but I'd prefer something a bit more permanent so that I'd have a bit of peace of mind that this would not happen again.

I measured the brackets that are on the glass and drilled some screws into the pockets under the spears of the wing with where I lined up the brackets. nice and tight.

you want it on there for good?
get some good 3M epoxy for body pannels.

Or screw from below like QC said.

Re: Securing Hawk's wing

bad thing about the epoxy is the deck panel that mounts to the glass has "some" movement and that would be bad for the wing.

Re: Securing Hawk's wing

Thanks guys for the suggestions, measuring and installing screws sounds like it may be my best bet. For now I have another issue with the spoiler, so doing it it may have to wait.
